About the Role
We are a fast-growing HVAC company serving residential and commercial customers in a dynamic regional market. As we continue to scale, we are expanding our finance team and seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support accurate financial reporting and help build scalable accounting processes.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and enjoys improving systems while maintaining strong financial controls.
What You'll Do
- Assist the Controller with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks Online
- Perform bank, credit card, and loan account reconciliations
- Review and oversee accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P) activities
- Investigate and resolve vendor and customer discrepancies
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and support financial statement preparation
- Support job costing, WIP tracking, and project profitability analysis
- Assist with payroll accounting and benefits reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements
- Coordinate with external accountants on audits and tax filings
- Help document, implement, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- 3+ years of accounting experience in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
- Experience supporting or collaborating with remote or international finance teams is a plus
- Prior experience in HVAC, construction, or service-based industries preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
